My name is Tim Anders, and I am a qualified and experienced Art psychotherapist who specializes in working with men and boys.
Since receiving my MA in Art Psychotherapy from the University of Hertfordshire in 2011, I have worked for a variety of charities in the UK including Chai Cancer Care, Norwood and Camp Simcha. I have also worked in a special needs school called Darchei Noam, working with boys and young adults aged 11 to 22 with a wide range of mental health issues, emotional, behavioral and physical challenges including autism, ADHD, depression, psychoses, anxiety disorders, selective mutism and bereavement counseling.
As well as working with children I also have extensive experience of working with men experiencing various issues including anger, irritability or aggressiveness, noticeable changes in mood, energy level, or appetite, difficulty sleeping or sleeping too much, difficulty concentrating, feeling restless, or on edge increased worry or feeling stressed, a need for alcohol or drugs, sadness or hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, feeling flat or having trouble feeling positive emotions, engaging in high-risk activities, ongoing headaches, digestive issues or pain, obsessive thinking or compulsive behavior, thoughts or behaviors that interfere with work, family, or social life, unusual thinking or behaviors that concern other people and sexual addictions.
In addition to running a private practice I am also the founder and CEO of a charity called Arts Therapies for Children www.artstherapies.org.uk which provides Art therapy to 130 children per week across 34 Jewish Primary Schools in the UK.
